"Prosperity"

Europe has hated First Nations (that's not surprising today) –
Different approaches to money, raping the land is their way;
Churches divide down the center, half find it grates on their hearts
Whenever preachers start saying, "Here's how prosperity starts".

It's not a new-fangled message – back in the sixties I heard,
Parts of "Prosperity Gospel" – sometimes it seemed quite absurd;
Roberts had high Prayer-Tower, claims made him butt of some jokes,
But he discipled some others, they teamed with him in his yoke.

What is not seen is their culture – First Nations down to the core –
That grates on new settler outlooks – "Don't talk like that anymore.
We killed Riel for his outlook – Métis (or "mixed") was his view –
Talking that way you'll discover, that's what will happen to you.

"We're into drawing resources, up from the land we are in;
We think that's fine – rape this planet – First Nations think that's a sin;
Let them be poor, on the margin, we're having fun as we are –
God blesses us through our business, magic's baloney, by gar.

"Tilton's of flake, can't you see it? Copeland is not far behind;
‘Poor’ are the folk in their target, daily their programs remind
Marginal people that ‘giving’ starts money flowing to them;
We know that ‘taking’, and ‘making’, is how the winners all win.

"Take your First Nations baloney, don't share it here for we know,
First Nations people are crazy – too many years in the snow;
We make our fortunes if lucky, shoulders we put to the wheel,
Then we retire to the sunshine, prize for our outlook and zeal."
