Form Follows Function (Matthew 13:19)

"Apostles first", Apostle said,
(Do not be the "Risen Head" –
More, "in sequence", I would say)
Send them first, then it will pay.

You may not Apostle be,
If you are concerns not me;
"Do the work of one", Paul said
To friend Tim – "be sure they're fed".

If you are a TCK,
You're "apostle" now – today –
Every time you speak the Word,
’Cross a chasm you are heard.

You don't fit, (I need not say,
You're reminded every day –
Jokes are all misunderstood;
What you say's not viewed as good).

How do real Apostles work,
If the task they're not to shirk?
First, from Pluto you have come –
Don't forget they're number one.

But they don't all think the same
As each other – look at names;
More, ask maiden name of wife –
There's dynamic in each life.

Even more, check – TCK?
Is a culture-mix in play?
Each a culture by themselves;
Each encased; unique each shell.

Take one person – anyone,
Ask this question, just for fun –
"What if all were same as this?
What's their key to kingdom bliss?

That's the question Bruchko asked,
As he let each day go past,
Running trails to catch his food,
'Till that day with friend he stood –

That was when he grasped the "key
To his culture", set him free –
Difference was, he had tribe
He went back, "Good News!" He cried.

There within your motley crew,
Job’s the same for you to do;
’cept they have no place to sing,
They've no kin to Gospel bring.

So you must go to the next,
Ask yourself, "What's his context?"
On once more when he's set free –
"Greater works than Christ" – indeed!

Give to Pastors, Teacher-types
"Kingdom's keys" to say things right –
Yours the task to pick the lock,
Into freedom let folks walk.

"First Apostles" – loosen up
Hard-packed Earth (for seed, too tough);
Though there's shallow soil and weeds,
Help these folks the Word receive.
