Hooking Up The RTM's

I watched quite close to see effect
Of water as his duck got wet;
It's hard to say, though need was there,
I hunch no-go – was he aware?

Its multi-facets will confuse
His comprehension – they all use
A different hook-up (box to main),
For RTM's don't come the same.

One has its box on wall at North;
Another South, East, West – of course
Some power-panels are upstairs;
On basement walls are others raised.

No singing, praying, dancing 'round
Will change where panel can be found;
So all the power from the grid
Does not connect when panel's hid.

So God sends power through the line –
The words make sparks, the show is fine –
Like hands apart in Sistine shrine –
No power flows to household lines.

The wiring's good; the grid is up;
But disconnect, it is enough
To stop the show at words – no power –
Unlike with Paul in his bright hour.

In missions – first they send a crew
To ascertain what Pastors do,
And Teachers, with Evangelists
And Prophets – an effective mix.

That crew scouts out the power grid –
Where on foundation hook-up's hid;
Then when the RTM's set down,
Line up the panel where it's found.

Without that work no power flows,
For lights and fridge, as each one knows,
Must with the power-grid hook on,
Or hopes of lights within are gone.

So, on the mission-field that crew
Note, “power's on the North for you –
Just like your neighbours, much the same”
That's essence of the hook-up game.

Out there each hook-up's like the rest;
Soon staff of locals work their best
Because the first crew ascertained,
Then turned the house – a matching game.

This process all around the earth
Was much the same – each second birth
Was marked by Spirit's power-flow,
For panels linked to line below.

In one place grid hooked on the North;
Another South – house turned of course –
So grid and panel each hooked up
Thus power flowed – quite basic stuff.

But then some “Northern ” power types
And “Souths”, “Easts”, “Wests”, thought time was right
To relocate to Canada
To live and sing Hallelujah!

So he, (an East-North-East type man)
Taught word of God, (as well he can)
To group with panels scattered ’round –
A multi-dis-connect was found.

For North and South wed East and West;
Their kids were TCK's – upset
Because the power for mom and dad
Did not hook up for lass or lad.

So what was he supposed to do?
Call in an ascertaining crew?
For now the group was such a mix,
How could such disconnects be fixed?

Before, each group was all the same;
 Once crew found out locale of main
It worked for all, like master key –
And power flowed – no mystery.

Paul came with power, not just with words;
In days of old new Christians heard –
And hear today in far off lands –
No disconnect, one understands.

It's all right there in Scripture text:
God sends Apostles, others next;
Apostles – ascertaining crew
Who mains and panels line-up do.

“Though you Evangelist are not”,
Wrote Paul in letter where he taught,
“Do work of one as part of task –
My answer to the thing you ask”.

If Paul were writing us today,
Perhaps these are the words he'd say:
“Though you Apostle aren't, I see,
Hook panels where their outlets be.

“Then you will teach with power and words”.
“Apostles first” (in Scripture's heard);
“Send them in first, hook grid to box –
My power then flows each time you talk”.

For when the group turned around to leave
I watched their eyes, low peace perceived –
Just as I thought – they heard the word –
Low power flowed – seems quite absurd.
