Chemical Warfare

I found the grout at work a mess,
So started cleaning deep, with test
Of what could clean and fast restore
The look of new within their store.

I did not see the dirt at first,
Just surface cleaning – got the worst
And it looked good, until one day
I saw the grout a different way.

At first I thought it had been me –
Slow build-up so I could not see,
But then I realized, “no way –
This grout was stained some former day”.

Three times each section etched it out;
Tried Oxy-bleach – not bad for grout,
But “Blast” – now there's a chemical
That cleans the mildew, stains, and spills.

I did the central thoroughfare;
Periphery is now compared,
So I can see where I have been,
As grout and tile are super-cleaned.

And when I'm done, I'll photo take,
And thus a benchmark I'll create;
Because the folks work there each day,
Dirt builds unnoticed – gradually

That's what my records are to me –
A benchmark clear, so I can see
The changes slow in life I make;
Of hope and joy I then partake.
