Heartland

Heartland is not geographic, heartland is within;
Heartland's where there's deep desire, often stopped by sin;
Sin is just rebellion from the God of the universe,
Left behind as we pursue some secondary purse.

Heartland is not momentary, heartland lasts for aye;
Heartland has a longer view as we eke out each day;
Days are where we live our lives from dawn till setting sun,
But heartland holds a longer view for us – when victory's won.

Heartland's full of tribulation both within, without;
Heartland's got its nasty business, hassles, troubles, doubt;
Doubt can stop us in our tracks and that's the reason why,
We are best to listen to its cautions, lest we die.

Heartland's challenge: to press forward, deep into the fray;
Heartland calls us from our comfort to a tougher way;
Tougher are the things in life, of value, high esteem;
Heartland offers us a better life than where we've been.
