Destiny
There’s land between “I like you” and “I love you”
Which Spanish language captures in a word;
At least down here in Spanish Costa Rica –
“Te quiero” – that's the Spanish word I've heard.That's right, for scale it is with shifting meaning,
As we acquaintance meet and get to know;
Our sentiments express themselves in language,
As we our deepening feelings choose to show.Gradation in our thought's not always compassed
Within the boundaries of our mother tongue;
Expression fills the gaps with added meaning,
As being's where reality is hung.“I like”, “I like some more”, “I truly love you”,
Have still much finer aspects to explore,
As we live out this precious life together,
And get to know each other more and more.Relationships are small at the beginning;
Mature to summer days with warming sun;
Go through transition's autumn to the winter,
Until our life together's days are done.But they are just the structures of our loving;
Within those categories we are grown;
We get to choose our destiny together,
For harvest-days flow from a crop that's sown.navigation
