The Outward Flow Of Intimacy
Implosion of the life we have and had
(All parts were there but inward pressed and sad),
Reversed it has – renewal of the life
Which was, and is, and is to come with wife.Between two pots of overflowing gold,
All peopled up – derived as bought and sold –
That's fine for them – for nothing can compare
To what's ahead through archway, long prepared.Your Glory, strength which far outshines the Sun,
Glows through the bow – with heaven and earth now one –
It pushes back that bleak and darkling day
As now before us two extends a way –A way beside that water running by;
A way through archway both of earth and sky;
A way that leaves behind our Grace-lit past;
A way for us – eternity at last.I now can ditch that once imploded mess;
Cast off the past, press forward towards the best;
Your Grace O Lord, has drawn, we carry on –
Life opened up, beyond all words – a song.Those pots of gold beneath that rainbow's bends,
(Which other folks think “that's where triumph ends”)
Already lie aside, we passed them by
As we pressed onward – one till day we die.It matters not now when, or where, or why;
Both hope it's long, but “here” is “there brought nigh”;
It's in this moment, here with you, today,
All else falls back, as we move on our way.That rainbow bright through which we pass and move
Comes where the sun, the dark of clouds remove;
Sure sign of hope (not all will go this way)
That life on earth still works, as on this day.Lord for this day of rest amidst our toil,
We thank You for Your gifts of sun and soil;
Of Grace that draws us on despite the pain;
Of prisomed-light – assuring life again.navigation
