A Foreword Reflection (p.6-9)
So here I am at sixty-four
Around, once more, an open door
I can't relate to Bresson’s pix
Of man traversing Paris ditch –For right across the bank – a fence;
Oh yes, of course, the lady's dance;
But figure sombre, and the graves;
And junk's reflection without waves;The hula hoops and ladder's place;
The bicycle not in some race;
Though man attired in business dress,
He’s in a rush – impending mess.But no – reflection of the fence
Makes one-third frame a firm defence
Against intruders to dry land –
I hate such wet reflective land.Reflective, yes, that part's okay,
I rarely see by light of day
The juxtaposed, at least left-brain,
But in my right I'll snap again.For all of us there is some point
Where past and future are conjoined;
For me, that book by Fenninger
Bid me reflect on photo's stir.I did – not final, but a start –
Saw it must leave or take its part
In ministry – get in, get out
For time-diversion blocked my route.So, in it came – and then refined
As service-work absorbed my time,
Until Nee’s words as conduit
“It's now released – abide in it.”Two years no work on photo scene
Until the quest-ion had been
Made clear to me – way through the fence
Despite that culture's strong defence.At that point I traversed my pond,
Hopped, skipped, and jumped with some despond;
A world more clear as I reflect,
Than at the time, as you'd expect.Shortcuts are messy often times,
But fences force a route through grime;
But not forever, just a spell –
A leap of faith – leads out of hell.So – letter – poster – cloudy sky –
(Now Photo-Shopped) – but I ask, “Why?
When world is full of images
If we'll attend their visages”.So shout – be free – live in the way;
Through us, God has so much to say;
Head, spirit, heart, and eye align
On axis – photographs sublime.A door emerged some years ago –
It opened, I walked through to know
The part we'd missed – I found it then
So I'm back at this start again –Except I see I'm TCK,
Like spiral swirl’s descending way;
I'm facing north once more I see,
With different source of potency.For culture is the piece I'd missed,
Which interrupted family's bliss –
Now turned, re-set like RTM,
The photo-power flows again.So Spirit, right-brain, photo skill,
Lined up, express the Father's will;
So do it, Stu, don't hesitate,
Or for “decisive moment” wait.navigation
