Piggy-Back Pain

I said goodbye to group last night,
With start again of life in sight;
And disentangled once again
The piggy-backing of the pain.

Pain has a way of doing that,
It brings its own, then, looking back
It wires up examples past,
A piggy-backing set to last.

Those authors said, “Wring more from it
Than from your life it wrings”, and “Fit
Your life for what you wish to do
Which found no courage ’fore in you”.

So, now it's time for movin' on;
The symptoms, heartache, meds are gone;
Who knows what wonders lie ahead
Twixt this farewell and time I'm dead.
