From Despondency To Joy
It started out despondency, my little pix of hope;
With strength assured behind my back, maroon my vested robe;
With Green ahead, beneath my feet, and out in front a bit;
No matter how the picture turned, no Way flowed out of it.Then blue of me flowed outward till it tinted all the rest;
For blue and yellow made for green, and shifted tones of vest;
A concrete God beneath my feet, yet flowing from ahead;
Head tilted back, beard layered out, the Son for me was red.Now strength for me all background was, as context that I'm in;
Where I was going to from here was there, apart from sin;
For sin's rebellion from the One who makes it all worthwhile –
A life of honesty and love, eschewing mankind's guile.So where I've been and who I am at this point on the road,
Is secondary to that place now lighter in my load;
For from my back has gone the pack of troubles of the past,
And I am freed up on this day to move ahead at last.navigation
