The Bargain Of A Lifetime

“But watch, soon comes the bargain time for all
Who stand to lose it all in coming squall;
But needed is that stage where loss is seen,
But not the final toll of bell for what has been.

For often loss is loss just for a time,
Like when in cushioned chair drops tiny dime;
A search propelled by “Maybe way there’ll be”
Lets coin be found, and we see victory.

That's fine, and yes, that's what we want to hear;
But error-prone are docs and labs, though speaking clear.
So when the news arrives of hope renewed,
Don't mind when medics word is doubtful viewed.

It would be nice to freely jump with glee,
And sing a song of "shadow viewed" in what they see;
Or of a wacky-doodle spot of life;
It's hard, here in a world with error rife.

But hey! I'll play along, good news allow
To some extent, but look, it's concrete now –
For CEA in blood you track in time,
But fail to check the box for test that's mine.

So I don't live in numbing time of shock;
Or in denial's semi-visioned walk;
But here – in bargain-of-a-lifetime's day –
And listen quite bemused what medics say.
