Communication
When I speak out or write about the thought that's on my mind,
In part I see how folks react, if it be cruel or kind;
It's not the last word that I think, or even next to last,
But just an opening thought of mine, averting stormy blast.Compassion-types more subtle are, but it's there just as much;
They tippy-toe, waft to and fro, avoiding fights and such.
“For no thought's worth the loss of friends, or tempest in a jar,
So I would sooner hold my peace then be rejected far”.The givers and financial types are silent by the main;
They keep their counsel to themselves and quiet they remain;
But all the while they sow their seeds so future growth will come,
Thus no-one hassles them for things, as they long since have gone.Perceivers say what's on their mind, but few will pay them heed
They see quite clearly up ahead but listeners they all need.
Whenever one gets listened to, it's then the stones will fly –
Perceivers step right up to it, for by their words they'll die.The servers speak their mind on things – they hope to nix all change;
They'd rather keep things as they are, at least within a range.
But they would rather act than talk, long meetings are a bore;
For acting as they've always done brings quality to fore.Administrators have their lists around which speech is made –
Rewards and slaps when things are done, and complex plans are laid;
They don't like hassles, as the rest, but push ahead despite
Objections to their dreams and schemes, take heat, then bleed at night.Now teachers like to set folks straight, in schools and CBC;
They are sequential, start at “A” and then proceed to “Zee”.
You'll see their finger pointing out how you're all wrong, they right;
It matters not the time of day – they'll talk long into night.When put together as a group, or body, if you will,
It's quite a sight to see us all communicating, still
We try our best to get along despite our allergies
To one another's way of talk, or silences to please.One dances around; one tippy toes; one's quiet, planting crops;
One's holding forth; one's grumbling; one’s pressing on a lot;
One's setting straight both far and near – together quite a sight –
A wonder we communicate at all, or hear things right.navigation
