Seize The Day

Might, of course, does not make right, it simply takes the day,
And saves some time for power folks in making others pay;
I saw it from the inside then, from outside see it now,
The hallmarks of those power plays – the same, regarding “how”.

The first step is a Godless heart, (that's one in God's top 10);
And close behind is two, a likeness-focus (con-descend);
There's messing with the names for God to quite disparage Him;
Then meld His day into the rest – bring global village in.

Ship mama to a senior’s home at hands of low-paid staff,
Pay homage to her once or twice a year and have a laugh;
That's number five and wraps up all those frills-and-extras laws,
Just leaving all the social sins, for which there might be cause –

To be more subtle, sneaky like, not flaunt them like the rest;
That's killing, screwing, stealing, lying, chasing after best;
It's these that separate quite clearly amateur from pro;
And ‘corporate’ is the best disguise so others do not know.

It really matters little if it's profit that you chase,
For power is the name of game – conserve or lay things waste;
It helps if you can see ahead, lay plans, and decoy set,
Because by time you get up there, it's power that you'll get.

So, corporate killing is okay – asbestos overseas
Is shipped from Canada each day – let other people's sneeze
And cough their lungs out, asbestosis no concern of ours,
So long as GDP is high, and with it corporate powers.

Adulterating marriage – base for entertainment folks;
It sells our products, titillates, is substance of the jokes;
A second wife is power symbol – or one or two on side;
So what if family life is wrecked if we in power reside.

Stealing as a Corporation is the name of game;
Not from the Corporation, mind you, that would bring on shame.
The churches do it all the time, close others, seize their cash,
Then stay on top of clergy heap, church power-play’s a blast.

Now lying, spreading stories, telling tales that are not true,
Is how the corporate power-elite make others look like a fool;
So bad it is the easy way to get high-octane truth –
Reverse all true and false you hear, it comes out eighty-proof.

The chasing after houses, spouses, staff, and tools, and cars,
Is corpor-ate-ly best performed with label “culture ours”;
’Cause then it's okay – “stimulate demand” in other folks,
Then from your power-position bank your cash – a social joke.
