Seven Lean Years
When Potiphar a ruler was
In Egypt – dreamed a dream because
God wanted him to take a course
Of action, lest his life get worse.He dreamed of seven healthy cows
Consumed by seven lean somehow;
And seven stooks of grain so rich
Consumed by seven thin as switch.So Joseph (one with fancy coat)
Said “Store up grain, for then you'll gloat
As other nations starve for food,
For famine's just up yonder road”.Seven years I've struggled down this road
And carried heavy cancer load;
Whatever could this story mean –
An inverse – healthy after lean?Lord lift this load from me this time
That life and growth might now be mine;
I've had enough – please give relief –
From longing heart lift heavy grief.I do not ask You now for much –
A momentary healing touch;
Relieve this struggle of my soul;
Give health and make my body whole.navigation
