False Eyes

I finally figured what it is –
This busty, push up, bosom biz –
While eyes are darkened down with paint –
It shifts the focus from what ain't:

There isn't life in people's eyes,
And that's a fact one can't disguise;
So draw attention from your face
And give folks somewhere else to gaze.

But my approach is not that route –
It seeks the joy in you to flout.
When light’s within ’cause hope is raised
It bursts out from your outward gaze.

So let's go back and try again
To pull the cover off your pain,
And let that hope and joy in you
Flow out – for to career it's clue.
