Evangelist

Perhaps the best known evangelist in the past half century in North America is Billy Graham. His work at inviting people into a relationship with God through Jesus Christ, and intentionally networking them back into local congregations for their continued growth and maturity is well established.

One whole section of the protestant Church, the one the "vertical pole" of the angle diagram, even takes its name ("evangelical") from the felt imperative of the great commission, that of bringing people into such a saving relationship, and nurturing their growth. It is not that these people always do such evangelistic work, but that is the group's focus, through personal activity or funding.

The Graham organization has established a School for Evangelism for the training and support of such ministers.
